For parents and carers
A trusted adult, and a way back to learning.
When school has become too much, everything can feel stuck. RESTA AP gives your child one trusted adult, a RESTA Specialist, who works with them 1:1 in the community. We build safety and confidence first, so learning can start again at their pace.

Could RESTA AP be right for my child?
- They're out of school, or on a reduced timetable
- School feels overwhelming, or anxiety stops them going
- They find it hard to trust adults right now
- They have an EHC plan, or are being assessed for one
- They're in Year 5 or above
Not sure? Just ask. We'll talk it through with you and be honest about whether we're the right fit.
Relationships come before results.
Your child meets the same RESTA Specialist 1 or 2 times a week, for up to 3 hours, somewhere they feel comfortable: a library, a café, a community centre or outdoors. Over at least 28 sessions, they work through five steps, in this order.
- 1
Feeling safe
“I feel safe enough to engage.”
- 2
Belonging
“There is a place for me here.”
- 3
Knowing who they are
“I know who I am and what I bring.”
- 4
Making choices
“My choices matter.”
- 5
Planning ahead
“I can see a future I want.”
